Some major takeaways from this episode: "What has helped me keep my sanity for my business and even personally is what I’ve always done, which is called 5 days. Everyday, minimum, I try to make it a goal of contacting 5 clients for reviews, 5 clients socially, no business, just to touch base and say hello. Lastly, 5 friends/center of influences that I am not doing business personally but who have been referring me clients.”

Sometimes we get involved with organizations or boards because we want to get closer to a specific group of individuals. If you do not have a passion for it, you will not do well.”

Bad advice I that I heard when starting in this industry is that ‘you can do this on my own’ and that is not true. When I started 15 years ago, I met with these advisors who were doing exceptional business for decades. It was a 70/30 split. 70% to them and 30% to me and I thought, ‘wow! That is insane. I am going to give up 70% of business to people I know, but the training and what I learned from those folks, till this day, I am very grateful because that was basically my Masters in Financial Services. From them, I was able to learn what would have taken me years to learn. I learned all their good habits.”
